Date Three

And before you ask, no I do not plan to document and number every single date we have if we do indeed have more.

Mr. Salesman/third person talking guy from Atlanta was back in town on business.We’ve had a few phone calls and traded text messages since our last date and while I can’t exactly explain my interest/disinterest in him I did decide that there was no reason that I shouldn’t see him when he is here unless I had other plans right? I’m not jumping on a plane to go visit or anything but if he’s in town…

There is something to be said for having someone tell you how much they are looking forward to seeing you, fawn all over you, and constantly pay you compliments. And maybe he’s just a smooth talker or I’m out of practice but I think he is sincere. Actually I think his sincerity may be one of the things that interests me in him the most. That, and wondering if he’s always “on”. What he is actually like outside of the business suit and businessy environment? Does he let his guard down and relax? Can he have a serious conversation that doesn’t involve bashing Barack or mentioning himself in the third person? Who is he on the weekends? I’m a little curious.

I’m not getting all, “My new boyfriend” but I think he could go there really quickly. He told me that he didn’t actually have to be in town for the meeting he flew in for, that he could have done it by phone but came because he wanted to see me again. It’s all pretty flattering, although I’m not sure what I did on our first two dates to warrant it. Maybe it’s because I’m not the girl who’s acting impressed by his size, his money or his “stuff”.

We went to the same restaurant as our first and second date to see his bartender friend. I don’t mind if that’s what he wants to do, but it’s a little odd isn’t it to not want to go to other places when you are in NYC? I drunkenly mentioned that my birthday is coming up and that I am having a party on Saturday. He was all, "Do you want me to fly in for your birthday?" And I was all" Ah, no." I know that seems mean and maybe that’s my answer about if I really like him or not but honestly I don’t think I’m quite ready for the full blown here are all my friends situation until I actually figure out my feelings for him. For now I guess if he’s enjoying seeing me, plying me with liquor and choice cuts of beef and I’m enjoying it who’s the wiser?
